Easy DIY Travel Doodle Kit

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. The summer holidays has kicked in and you know how busy that can be. The kids are outdoors all the time and I’ve been spending time with them playing. We also took a trip to the south, to Kärnten (Carinthia) catching up with family and relatives.

While I’m in the midst of packing for another trip next week, I thought I’ll share a quick super easy DIY Travel Doodle Kit. It’s small, lightweight, and fits nicely either in your kid’s backpack or yours. It also makes a great grab-and-go kit if you’re too busy to put together a busy bag for your kid.

As I mentioned before, it’s quick and easy. So if you think you don’t have the time to make one, then this DIY is just for you! It took me just 10 minutes or less to make one.

What makes it even better? Is that you don’t have to get out of the house and shop for materials. Because most of the items you would already have laying around at home i.e. colour pencils, containers, note pads, felt pens, and etc. I even managed to find all the items around the house to make two kits. So, thumbs up for saving money!

I’m going to show two different types of Doodle Kits which I made for both of my kids.

All you need are the following :-

• Snack box
• Memo pads
• Double-sided tape
• Colour pencils / felt pens / crayons
• Stamps

Travel Doodle Kit 1

Step 1 : Measure the box to make sure the memo pads fit nicely.

Step 2 : Place the double-sided tape on the back of the memo pads.

Step 3 : Stick the memo pads on the inside of the cover box. Insert some colour pencils or felt pens.

Travel Doodle Kit 2

With this next Doodle Kit, I’ve decided to reuse a snack box with a separator.

Step 1 : Just like in Travel Doodle Kit 1, measure the box to fit the memo pad. With this box, I could only fit one memo-pad.

Step 2 : Place the double-sided tape on the back of the memo pad.

Step 3 : Stick the memo pad on the inside of the cover box. Throw in some felt pens, stamps, and Voila! Your kid’s very own travel doodle kit is ready to go.

Don’t just make it for your kids. It also makes a great gift idea for little travellers!
